Getting caught in the crossfire…

July 23, 2012

Have you ever gotten so upset at something or someone that you literally wind up in a ball on your bed crying, for hours… only to wake up the next morning and realize that was slightly dramatic? That was me last night. Welcome to day 4 of the cleanse!

Everyone experiences detox’s/cleanse’s in their own way, and I am clearly no different.  For most people, days 1-3 are the hardest, emotionally and physically. Your body is in complete shock and expelling all of the toxins and junk your body doesn’t want or need. Day 3 tends to be a very emotional day. Cleansing is not only physical, but very much emotional. Emotional baggage that we hold onto or bury deep within reveals its self. And it can be very intense.  Mine was intense, and triggered by something very miniscule.

Sometimes when this happens, others get caught in the crossfire. Sometimes you are completely alone and go through it on your own terms. I happened to not only be alone in dealing with the emotions, but caught someone else in my wrath as well. He knows I love him, and he knew there was a possibility of an emotional break down. But I still feel bad that it happened.

The good news out of all of this? It brought up an issue that’s been deeply buried in me for some time now, and we’ve started a dialogue about it. That’s all you can do right? Talk it through, share your feelings, and hopefully work towards a solution that feels good on both sides.  Maybe have more of an understanding of whats been going on, and some compassion for tho still feel pain around it.
